NWBL 2012 Season getting fired up

All six NWBL teams have gathered this weekend in Dandenong, Victoria for the first ever NWBL Cluster Round as the opener for the 2012 season.

The round kicked off last night with three games over the evening being played at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium.

Adelaide Thunder had a close match up in the first game against RSL Qld Spinning Bullets. After finishing the first quarter at 10-10 they snagged a lead during the second quarter which they held on to for the rest of the game to finish at 66-59.

In the second game Wollongong Roller Hawks proved they still have what it takes starting off the season as strong as they finished the last. With an early lead of 33-12 at the end of the first quarter they took down the Victorian Dandenong Rangers 83-56.

The final game of the night was got off to a close start with the Be Active Perth Wheelcats just leading the Sydney Uni Wheelkings 15-12. However the Wheelcats proved they were still a force to be reckoned with, jumping to a 35-18 lead by half time and finishing the game at 68-44.
