ROUND 4 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

After a relatively slow start to the season, Shaun Norris has helped the Be Active Perth Wheelcats regain their form and move back into a finals position with a sweep of Round 4.

They proved too good for the Red Dust Heelers across three meetings and Shaun Norris led the way, averaging a triple-double with 26 points, 10.3 rebounds and 12 assists per game.

From a 2-5 record, the Wheelcats are now 5-5 as they look to go one better than their silver medal performance from last year.

This weekend could prove to be the catalyst towards another playoff run and Norris got them started on Friday night as he led all scorers with 29 points.

He added 16 rebounds and nine assists to fall just short of a triple-double but was dominant at the offensive end as he was directly involved in 47 points as the Wheelcats ran out 60-44 victors.

Norris out-scored Red Dust from beyond the arc with two three-pointers while his four steals and two blocks (the only two in the game) ensured his presence was felt defensively as well.

The following night, the Heelers came out strong and trailed by only two points at quarter-time but Norris ensured Perth stayed in front with 11 points in the first term.

They then extended that margin to double-digits with Norris scoring another eight points in the second quarter and from there, the Wheelcats were not headed as they secured a 69-45 win on the back of 31 points from their star player.

He recorded his second straight double-double with 11 assists to go with eight boards while his five steals helped his side earn a 13-9 advantage off turnovers.

On Sunday, Perth succeeded in every term again and while Norris had his lowest point production of the weekend (18 points), he was still highly influential with a third straight double-double of 16 assists (two more than Red Dust as a team), seven rebounds and seven steals.

The Aussie Roller now sits third in the competition for points per game (24.0) while leading all competitors for rebounds (12.8) with almost three more per game than any other player.

He also sits second for assists (10.8) and after averaging a triple-double in 2016, is on his way to repeating the feat in 2017.

Shaun Norris Round 4 Stats: 26 points on 33-79 (42%) field goal shooting and 10-14 (71%) free-throw shooting, 10.3 rebounds (two offensive), 12 assists and 5.3 steals per game.
