Wollongong set to finish top of the ladder
Wollongong Roller Hawks have swooped in to take top place on the ladder after visiting Perth on the weekend in a Grand Final replay at the Herb Graham Centre. The Wheecats fought hard to keep off last year’s champions but Wollongong proved too strong defeating them 79-53 & 83-66. Shaun Norris, as always showed off his skills top-scoring the first game with 29 points for the Wheelcats, while Shawn Russell top-scored the Rollerhawks with 21 points. However it was Brett Stibners in game 2 that got everyone talking with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists almost earning him a triple-double.
Down south the Spinning Bullets took two easy wins over Adelaide moving them up to fourth place on the ladder and into the running for that fourth place at the finals series in Shell Harbour.
In Sydney, Wheelkings went down to Dandenong in a tighter game then the final score of 85-72 suggests. Wheelking’s senior and junior scored majority with Cannane taking 28 points and CJ 24. Daniel Del Toso stole the show for the Rangers with 34 points and 11 assists. Sydney Uni head to Dandenong this weekend to take on the Rangers in their final two games on the season. Sydney Uni will be fighting hard for a win to secure themselves a spot in the finals.
