Fixture:
The Spinning Bullets spread out their season evenly with only a bye coming in Round 5 (when just two teams will compete). That does mean that beyond Round 1, they do not play more than three games in a weekend and the consistency throughout the year could be a blessing if they find themselves back in the hunt for a podium position in 2018.

Overview:
After claiming a surprising but well-deserved bronze medal last season, the Spinning Bullets are now a legitimate threat in the competition and will be gunning for gold this year. Tom O’Neill-Thorne can lead them to the top of the podium and proved his worth in the 2017 bronze medal playoff, recording 36 points and 12 assists while also claiming the Mid-Point MVP overall. He will not be able to do it alone though and Matt McShane, Dylan Gawthorne and Daniel Anstey must continue to improve after strong campaigns last season. The Spinning Bullets are building towards something big and have six players from Australia’s most recent Under-23 World Championships side on their roster which will hold them in good stead for the future.

One To Watch: 
Jake Fulwood. One of those members of the Under-23 Spinners, Fulwood provides an inside presence that Queensland will rely upon this season. He averaged 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 2017 while shooting a career-high 54% from the field while Fulwood is also a more than capable passer, tallying ten points, eight rebounds and six assists against Kilsyth in arguably his best game of last season. If he can bump his average closer to a double-double with rebounds, Fulwood could become one of the league’s most dominant forwards this year.
