Wilcocks to make Braves debut

Bendigo Bank Braves have started the season off soaring with an impressive 5 game winning streak coming into this weekend’s clash against Melbourne Tigers.

The Braves have named the squad for this weekend with all the regular big names, however, in a surprising announcement made last night, young gun Jake Wilcocks has been called up to the big game!

Jake starred in last week’s double header weekend, averaging about 30 points per game. With this fine form, it’s no wonder he got the call up.
Coach of the Big V Braves, David Beks has been impressed with Jake’s efforts over the last few weeks and believes he deserves the opportunity to suit up with the best of the Braves.

Jake is excited for the opportunity to step up and play with the senior boys, show casing his abilities and contributing to an already impressive side.
“I am thankful for the opportunity both David and Ben have given me and hope to rise to standards of the SEABL and continue to achieve what I have been doing in the D-League” stated Jake.

Ben Harvey, Head Coach of the Bendigo Bank Braves has been extremely pleased with Jake’s efforts in Big V Youth League over the past weeks and his relentless input during training sessions.
“I’m really excited to see Jake being given the opportunity to put on the Braves Jersey. Jake has been a committed player throughout preseason and has worked hard in D-League over the beginning of the season. It’s always good to reward players who are performing well and as we know that rewards come from hard work, I’m very happy to be giving Jake the opportunity to suit up.” Stated Ben.

The Braves will be taking on the Melbourne Tigers at home this Saturday night at 8pm, with the Bendigo Brave Big V Youth boys as the curtain raiser at 6pm.
Bendigo Basketball Association wishes both teams all the best with the games.
