Warrandyte Basketball is excited to announce the signing of Nicole Romeo to the Venom State Championship Women’s roster for 2016.

Nicole brings with her a wealth of experience at the college level, SEABL, internationally and WNBL. Nicole played last season in Australia for the Nunawading Spectres as part of the 2015 SEABL competition where she averaged 14.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game with 38.2% from the three point line. She is currently playing for Spanish club Cadi Le Seu D’Urgell where she is averaging 10.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game and shooting at over 48% from the floor and maintaining the healthy average of 38% from the three point line.

Warrandyte Coach, Nicole Howard had this to say about the inclusion of Nicole to the Warrandyte squad;

“It is not every day that someone with Nicole’s talent and experience arrives to your club. We again have a young squad with bright futures, in

fact majority of our team is under 23 years of age, and it is critical that we put alongside them players who cannot only perform at a high level but who can also demonstrate on a daily basis what it takes to be successful. I want my players to understand the work ethic required and the professionalism to compete at the highest level, and Nicole has this in bucket loads”.

“The inclusion of Nicole will be tremendous for the league, for our Big V program and for our Venom Rep and Redbacks Domestic programs. She is going to be someone that all young female players can look up to and we can’t wait to have her step out in a Venom uniform” said Howard. “The Venom SCW players are all so excited about Nicole arriving and joining us, they are very aware of her achievements to date and can’t wait to take the floor alongside her for the upcoming season. There is a great feeling amongst the group that Nicole’s inclusion will be wonderful for all involved” concluded Howard.

Nicole will arrive back in Australia at the conclusion of her Spanish season and will be on court with the Venom SCW side for the Big V 2016 season.
