29.19 HEAT WINNER and BEST TIME BY HALF A SECOND for UB

29.19 HEAT WINNER and BEST TIME BY HALF A SECOND!

UB won her heat here at the Olympics in the 50m Freestyle with a very fast time of 29.19. That is a full half second under her best time. With a demeanor like a true champion, and a will of steel she came out of the ready room owning the race before it even began. Just looking at her walk out everyone knew that this would be a swim of a lifetime. As the call whistles blew, she got up to the blocks, called fittingly by Oceania's own Leslie Huckins, and stared down the pool with sheer determination. As the first one off the blocks with a 0.71 reaction time, she powered her way down the pool, holding her breath the last 12 meters and hammered the wall first.

Hopefully many of you got to watch it on TV or online, as Palau got to get on the big screen for a lot smiles and "shakas".

We are all so proud of what and who UB has become over the years, and cannot be more happy for her with this amazing feat. Getting a best time, nevertheless winning a heat on the biggest stage is a memory she will never forget. Way to go UB, you made Palau Proud!

Well, unfortunately that's it on the swimming end of things for Team Palau, Between Shawn and UB though, we achieved TWO for TWO best times, a National Record, and a Heat Winner!

Next up for Team Palau, Rodman is running in the 100m on Saturday at 9am Brazilia Time, 9pm Palau time, followed by Marina (Kayaking) and Florian (Wrestling) later next week.

GO TEAM PALAU!!!
