How long have you been playing for?
I think this is my 11th year.
What clubs have you played for?
I was a Forestville junior and I played there for 9 years. I’ve been at Southern for two years. I played the last year with the Lightning and I spent the two seasons before that as a development player for them.
What goals are you setting yourself this year?
Really just to help drive my team to be the best they can be this year. We’ve got a few young girls coming back, so to be that leader on court and as captain off-court to make our young girls feel comfortable in the league and play well together.
Did you have any idols growing up?
I always idolised Rachael Sporn. I got an opportunity to have indies with her as a junior at Forestville and she’s one of the big drives that made me want to play for the lightning and be the best player I can be.
Do you think your club will make a good run for the finals or even the title this year?
It’s always the goal, we just want to get better every game and build from where we were last year, which was higher than we thought we would be. If finals are in our sights we just want to take every advantage that we can.
Name one player to look out for in your team this year
Mollie McKendrick. She’s come across from South and her and I work really well together. She’s going to have a good season this year.
