In a battle for 6th position and to keep their respective seasons alive, the Tigers and Flames face off down South. In their only match of the weekend, Norwood could slide in to 6 place with just one round remaining, dependant on the Tigers’ results on Saturday. On the tail of a poor outing for the Flames, they may have outscored the Eagles in the paint but were absolutely exploited elsewhere. A prime example of this exploitation is their lack of depth with the Eagles outscoring Norwood 24-2. The Southern Tigers will need to rely on their bench to continue overcoming any challenges thrown their way. The lack of use of their second string can prove dangerous for the Flames, who will be looking for a way to tame the Tigers. That being said, the last time they met, the Flames defended their homecourt and walked away victorious by 6-points behind Bruffey’s team high 25-points. Heading into the final couple games and with a lot still on the line, it may be anybody's game,
Hang Time Prediction: Southern Tigers
MEN by Daniel Renfrey
The Flames missed a week after the game against Forestville was rescheduled. A game against Southern on return will be a big test, but Norwood undoubtedly has the talent to overcome their opposition. If Legan can fire, with the help of players like Brine, Lycett and the Webbers, their chances of a win will be high. Southern will need Turnage and Gilligan to show up big again. They will also need to play strong defence, with quick rotation and coverage, if they want to beat the deep offence Norwood boast. It should be a close one, as both teams are more than capable on either end of the floor. Norwood’s depth is too hard to go against here, although dominant performances from Turnage and Gilligan with support of their role players could see the Tigers come away with a win as well.
