Primary Schools Cup Wrap Up

The Volleyball Victoria Primary Schools Cup was held in conjunction with School Sport Victoria's State Volleyball Finals on Tuesday 29 November, 2016. The inaugural event included various divisions and age groups which catered to schools that were either new to the sport or have some experience with the sport (including through SSV, Sporting Schools, Spikezone, etc.). Additionally, the VVPSC provided additional playing opportunities for schools that had previously been eliminated from the SSV competition.

The Primary Schools Cup offered competitions for Years 3-4 and Years 5-6 in each gender and saw an encouraging number of team entries into each division in the event’s first ever year.

‘’We have been blown away by the support the primary schools have shown in this event and are looking forward to further growing this event in 2017’’ Volleyball Victoria Events Coordinator, Ash Camac.

In total, the inaugural Primary Schools Cup saw 17 teams from 7 different primary schools participate at the event. In a special addition to the event, the participants received a very special visit from helloworld Volleyroo’s; Rebecca Walter and Sophie Paine.

The VVPSC is a great way to get students out of the classroom and into a fun, active, and social environment. Volleyball allows kids to play sport as part of a team, with all players actively involved in the game (everyone is included!) and is a great way for kids to test their skills against other schools.

Volleyball Victoria invites and welcomes all Victorian Primary Schools to the 2017 Primary Schools Cup (Friday 24 November 2017) and looks forward to an exciting future in partnership with School Sport Victoria.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
