AFL Queensland in Mackay are seeking applications for a Year 10 or 11 student looking to pursue a career in the sports industry.
The successful applicant will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady, but will work on-site with AFL Queensland, Mackay and receive an accredited Certificate III Sport and Recreation qualification (on successful completion).
This role provides assistance to Development Coordinators and Development Officer Program Leaders in the delivery of a range of programs within AFL Queensland including AFL Auskick, Sport Education and District competitions.
You will assist in the delivery of programs through coaching, umpiring and promotion of AFL in a professional and enthusiastic manner. As a face of AFL programs in your region you will be responsible for building positive relationships and representing the game to improve knowledge of and participation in AFL.
Major Accountabilities
Program Delivery
• Assist with conducting AFL programs including Auskick, Community programs, Sport Education and Intra/Inter School Competitions
• Umpiring at School and District competitions
• Promotion of programs within schools including clinics and school assemblies
• Provide assistance and support to Development Coordinators and Program Leaders as required
• Ensure all programs are conducted in a fun and safe manner
