St Mary’s Basketball Club Join the SEABL Eagles
The DVBA is proud to announce the St Mary’s Basketball Club as the newest member of the SEABL Eagles program.
St Mary’s is one of the oldest and largest domestic clubs in the Diamond Valley Basketball Association and have a philosophy of development. They have put a lot of time and money into assisting their coaches knowing that it will benefit their players. In October 2017, St Mary’s and a sponsor covered the cost for a number of their coaches to complete the Basketball Australia Club Coaching Course which means they are now Accredited Club Coaches. It also helps that they have WNBL legend and 2003/4 WNBL All Star 5-member Jodie Datson leading the charge and passing on her wealth of knowledge.
As a part of the Domestic Club Membership, St Mary’s will be treated to a designated home game, a family pass to every home game, 14 courtside seats at 1 home game, 4 player visits to trainings by senior players, 2 seats in the Nest at 1 home game, opportunities for their coaches to gain valuable knowledge and experience from the SEABL coaches and most importantly, a 3-game membership for every junior player in the St Mary’s Basketball Club.
The President of St Mary’s Basketball Club, Rob Boek, is excited about being involved in the SEABL program.
“St Mary’s are proud to be part of Diamond Valley’s expansion into SEABL. It presents a fantastic opportunity for all members of St Mary’s and Diamond Valley to witness high quality basketball in our own backyard. We are looking forward to the start of the season.” Boek said.
CEO of the DVBA Ross Wignell is ecstatic about the new signing.
“I am very pleased St Mary’s are on board. Our objective is to turn Game Night into an event, like a show which will include flare, fun, plenty of activities and excitement and now we know the St Mary’s families will be a part of it. I am thankful to Rob and his committee for their continued support.”
