Ultimate Civic League GRAND FINAL PREVIEW

Greenhills Beavers (20-2) v St. Mary’s Sharks (14-8), Diamond Valley Sports & Fitness Centre, 7.00pm Monday, December 11

Greenhills officially ended 2017 the Minor Premiers with only 2 losses for the entirety of the season.Their ability to move the ball and find the open player made it extremely difficult for the oppostion with teams unable to contain the multitude of scoring options. The Beavers are out for redemption this week against St. Mary’s after the last encounter in which they lost by 6 points.

St. Mary’s found a winning formula halway through the season, winning 7 of the last 8 games of the season. This continued last week as they defeated Uni Hill by 12 points to secure their spot in this week’s Grand Final. The 3 point line has been a huge for the Sharks this season, scoring 492 points for the season beyond the arc.

Key Match-Up

Adam Moore vs. Cameron Conlon

Moore has been immense for the Beavers this season, out-matching all opposition with his brute strength and touch around the basket. The man that will most likely get the job on Moore is Conlon, as he is the only player in the Sharks outfit who will be able to contend with the strength and size of Moore. At the other end of the floor Conlon can be quite the handful as well. His ability to score with his back to the basket moves can quicky lead to creating shots for his sharpshooting teammates.
