ANDREW HOLLOWOOD LEADING THE WAY FOR OUR REFEREES
Our very own Referee President Andrew Hollowood has completed another achievement this year with being elevated into the WNBL.
Andrew has excelled in the referee pathway, at the age of 31 he has achieved several accolades along the way. He began his pathway as all referees do developing his skills by officiating in the Junior Domestic & Senior Domestic competitions.
It did not take Andrew long to want to pursue larger goals becoming a Junior Panel Referee for the Diamond Valley Basketball Association. After completing that goal he then set his sights onto officiating in the Big V Competition which eventuated into him being selected as a referee for the Big V Finals.
The next step in his referee pathway was the elevation in officiating for the SEABL competition, it was only a couple of months ago that we all acknowledged him for being awarded with finals for the SEABL competition.
For any referee being awarded the opportunity to officiate a WNBL game is remarkable, not only is Andy excelling in his own officiating, he is involved in educating our young referees through being a supervisor and referee coach.
We at the DVBA could not be prouder of our president and it is a great opportunity for all of our referees to see the pathway that is available to each and every one of them.
