Diamond Valley Big V State Championship Women guard, Olivia West committed late last week to joining the Utah State Aggies - beginning her U.S college journey alongside fellow Eagle, Shannon Dufficy.

Olivia has been a well-performing, experienced junior who has been to a number of Australian Junior Championships between her home State of Tasmania and now Victoria. Olivia is in her first season with the Eagles Big V program and brings a quick turn of pace, the ability to get in the key and be creative, and her terrific court vision – all attributes that will serve her well in the college system.

Beginning her time at Utah State at the same time as teammate Dufficy, Olivia will be in a great position for both support and also entering the Aggies program with a pre-existing on-court chemistry with a teammate.

‘Liv has been a pleasure to coach in the small amount of time I’ve been able to work with her. She’s hard working, she competes, and she’s really deserving of this opportunity to test her skills at the college level’, Big V State Championship Women’s Head Coach Dee Butler said.

‘I’m really proud of her and wish her the best on the journey – we’ll be doing all we can here to help prepare her to be at her best when she arrives in Utah.’

DVBA CEO Ross Wignell adds ‘This is great news for Olivia ! Regularly working on her game, Olivia’s ability to create tempo in the game, shoot from the perimeter and also get to the basket is very attractive in a point guard. Equally impressive is her work ethic, cheerful personality and the way she conducts herself. I wish Olivia the best of luck with the next 4 years improving her game at Utah State’.
