SEABL Round 3 Preview

This week both our SEABL teams will travel interstate Friday night before returning for a home double header on Sunday afternoon!

SEABL Women

The SEABL Women have their first road trip of the season, heading up to Sydney Friday to face the Sydney Uni Flames. The Flames currently sit 1-2 coming off a tough weekend losing to Albury Wodonga before knocking of the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence. Sydney Uni will mostly play through WNBL players Shanae Greaves, Tahlia Tupaea and Lara McSpadden. The Eagles are excited for the return of Ezi Magbegor and Chevannah Paalvast, who are coming off Gold and Bronze medals respectively at the Commonwealth Games. The Eagles then return to Diamond Valley Sunday to play the Dandenong Rangers, who beat Sandringham last week. Ezi and Chevannah will play their first home game for the Eagles, which surely will bring highlights!

SEABL Men

The SEABL Men travel to Mt Gambier Friday night to take on the 2017 SEABL Champions, Mt Gambier Pioneers. The Pioneers are a powerhouse of the SEABL competition, and are coming off a 33 point win over Albury-Wodonga. With multiple big time players, the Eagles will have to put focus on Tom Daly who had 40 points and 11 assists last week. They will have to back up on Sunday as the Dandenong Rangers come to Diamond Valley. The Rangers were the 2017 Runners-Up and this season have a bolstered roster that includes Adelaide 36ers sharp shooter, Anthony Drmic and Perth Wildcat Rhys Vague (who combined for over 70 points last week). The Eagles will look for import, Mike Best, to continue his strong start to the season but will need everyone to contribute to come away with 2 wins this weekend.
