Greenhills Beavers Basketball Club join the SEABL Eagles

The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is proud to announce the Greenhills Beavers Basketball Club as our newest signing for SEABL in 2018.

The Greenhills Basketball Club dates all of the way back to August 1970 when club stalwart and DVBA life member Bob Plummer began training a team. Jump forward 48 years and the Beavers are one of the strongest and well represented junior domestic clubs within the DVBA. Now lead by Dean Plummer, who was apart of the Ultimate Civic League championship team, Greenhills continue to go from strength to strength with 28 teams in the Northern Junior Basketball League and several players representing the Eagles on a Friday night. Greenhills is also the home to the SEABL assistant coach, Marcus Todd and men’s U16 State Team Assistant coach Jack Fleming. So, there is no shortage of guidance for player and coach development with these guys around.

Greenhills Basketball members will be treated to a designated home game, a family pass to every home game, 14 courtside seats at 1 home game, 4 player visits to trainings by senior players, 2 seats in the Nest at 1 home game, opportunities for their coaches to gain valuable knowledge and experience from the SEABL coaches and most importantly, a 3-game membership for every junior player in the Greenhills Beavers Basketball Club.

President of the Greenhills Beavers Dean Plummer is excited to throw the support behind the Eagles.

“Greenhills Basketball Club is excited to support and be a part of the 2018 SEABL program.” Plummer said.

“As the Longest serving club in the DVBA we are extremely proud to have produced a large list of men and woman that have gone on to play at this level. For our club the excitement kicks off for us right from the first game with Greenhills having two of its own involved in the opening round, Ben Harvey who will be the Head Coach of the Bendigo Braves and Marcus Todd who has taken on an Assistant Coach role with the Eagles. We see it as an exciting time for our junior boys and girls to get along and support their Eagles teams with what is an outstanding level of basketball and something for them to hopefully aspire to play in their basketball future.”

DVBA CEO Ross Wignell is just as excited about the Beavers joining the SEABL journey.

“It is fantastic to have the Greenhills Beavers throw their support behind the SEABL Eagles and give their members the advantages the come with our Domestic Club memberships. A big thank you to Dean and the Greenhills committee for joining us on the journey.” Wignell said.
