SEABL Inauguration Night

Last night, Diamond Valley Basketball held our SEABL Inauguration Night to celebrate the beginning of our journey in the 2018 South East Australian Basketball League at the Yarrambat Golf Course. We were joined by Government officials, both State and Local, life members, representatives from our domestic clubs and officials of Basketball Australia.

We were treated with presentations from our president Steve McCabe, CEO Ross Wignell, our men’s and women’s SEABL coaches in Grant Wallace and Zoe Carr and Basketball Australia General Manager of Competitions, Paul Maley.

During the night we touched on a lot of the history of Diamond Valley Basketball including our participation the Continental Basketball Association to present day and how this will be a great stepping stone for our junior domestic and championship athletes.

Diamond Valley Basketball CEO Ross Wignell said “Tonight was a great way to begin our campaign. To bring together my staff, DVBA Executive, Member for Yan Yean Danielle Green, the Nillumbik Mayor Peter Clarke, Deputy Mayor Karen Egan, Councillor Officer Naomi Paton, Basketball Australia’s Paul Maley, DVBA Life Members, our newly appointed coaching line up and our very important Domestic Club volunteers was special. What we are creating will be valuable not only to Diamond Valley’s development pathway, but beneficial to all basketball development in the north of Melbourne.

The celebration wrapped up with a video presentation that highlights just how exciting it is to be accepted into SEABL. Diamond Valley Basketball would like to thank Sharna Ayres and Lukas Kafritsas for their time and amazing contribution to the video.

Stay tuned for more SEABL information and exciting announcements!
