Eagles to Watch

Make sure to keep your eyes out for Diamond Valley teams wherever you are on Friday nights.
We check in with the coach of two teams to watch this week!

U16/3 Girls Diamond Valley

VJL 3
Coach: Craig Pattison
Friday 12th May
DV1 8.50pm
Our DV 16/3 Girls played some great Ball throughout grading to secure a Met 3 position for the 2017 season. So far this season whilst competitive in all games we have let some opposition team’s score too easily against us. Rest assured though, this group of talented athletes will train harder than ever to fix their Defence and continue to impress me on game day till season’s end.
This Friday night we take on one of our ladder leaders in Hawthorn 2. Having played them in the Australia Day tournament we know it will be a tough game but the girls are ready for the challenge having trained extremely well this past week and will be looking for a great defensive game against them to hopefully set up the win. Go Eagles!

U12/5 Boys Diamond Valley

Regional N3
Coach: Callum Grant
Friday 12th May
DV3 7.50pm
The U12-5 boys have gotten off to an impressive season start, remaining undefeated so far. However, we were challenged last week in a tight contest against Broadmeadows 4, but our tenacious defence resulted in a 6 point win. They’re a very enthusiastic bunch of boys who play with high energy and pace which has led to some high scoring affairs. Our current aim is to improve on our rebounding and court vision. This Friday night we play Sunbury 3 for the first time. We expect it to be a challenge as Sunbury have also put together some strong performances so far this season. This Saturday night the boys will also be ‘Team of the Week’ for the Big V double header which will be an exciting experience for them. Go Eagles!
