Former NBL and National Head Coach, Brian Goorjian recently shared some of his time, helping develop our interested coaches at Parade College. On court for 2 ½ hours, he worked with Diamond Valley & Eltham athletes whilst delivering his latest thoughts on Offensive Transition to the audience.

The energetic Goorjian was as active as ever, expressing how happy he was to be spending some time back in Australia. He gave an insight into what his duties entail as a Head Coach in China with the Dongguan Leopards and how he has changed on some of his teaching methods in recent times.

Building throughout the clinic, Brian took the players through a number of breakdown drills before putting groups of players together to move up and down the floor. Gradually reaching his 5 man offensive transition system, he then spent time giving a great insight to his half - court offence that certainly had the attention of all of the coaches.

Diamond Valley’s Technical Director of Coaching, Al McAughtry commented, “the DV and Eltham athletes fortunate to be on the floor definitely received a boost with their development tonight.”

It was a fantastic event and Diamond Valley is very much appreciative of Brian for coming out to spend time with our people educating them to be better coaches. We hope to put on more coaching clinics in the near future.
