2019 Senior Women’s Head Coach Announced

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Jonathan Goodman to the Diamond Valley Basketball Association as our Senior Head Coach of our Women’s program. Jonathan comes to the DVBA with a wealth of knowledge and experience at both Senior and Junior level.

He has represented both Australia & Victoria, as well as guiding the Bendigo SEABL women’s program to a number of post-season finals. His ability to work with the program to enhance the opportunity for all coaches and players willing to utilise his knowledge is exciting.

CEO Ross Wignell had this to say about the recent appointment.“We would like to welcome Jonathan to the DVBA coaching ranks. Having shown great success and experience in the SEABL competition, we truly believe he will fit right into the program and will do a fantastic job.”

Our Director of Coaching, Alan McAughtry, had this to say about the upcoming Eagles Coach.

“I have known Jonathan for a long while now. His ability to prepare a team to play and work for each other has been evident. This has at most times transpired into successful results in winning games, giving players that work the opportunity and the willingness to progress his staff and coaches around the program’

Jonathan spoke to us recently about the opportunity of 2019 with the Eagles. “I’m really excited and thankful for the opportunity that the DVBA has given me. I’m really looking forward to working with Al and Ross again, along with the talented athletes in the program. Credit has to go to last year’s staff, who managed a playoff appearance in the Women’s first year in the league. I’m looking forward to building on that and hopefully continuing the success of the Women’s club.”
