July Holiday Camps Another Success!

Our July holiday camps are winding down with only a few days to go. By the end of the two weeks, we will have hosted 6 camps over 9 days. More than 360 junior athletes have been through our doors to work on their skills, ranging from our U08 domestic players to U14 representative athletes and U16 NJBL players. These young athletes have been able to learn from some of our SEABL and Youth League Eagles players and coaches!

Director of Coaching, Alan McAughtry, had this to say “With over 360 young athletes attending our Holiday Camps, we have seen some great emerging talent and exciting games each day. With a fantastic line up of coaches including our Senior and Youth league players.  We have also seen the introduction of a player/coaching mentor for the first time as Monique Smith (U14 1 Girls) has attended both domestic camps and has been mentored by Sharna Ayres and Chevannah Paalvast from our SEABL team.

Individual offence & defence, shooting technique & footwork, 3 on 3 as well as full court games have seen some tired campers leave each day but many have backed up for several days on end. Well done to all involved as we look to continue to pass on the knowledge to the young players in the Northern region.”

There are still spots available for the 3x3 camp, to be held on July 12th. A great opportunity to learn about how 3x3 competitions work, and enjoy playing in a small team for the day! Contact matt@dvbasketball.com.au to register!
