Senior Championship Weekly Wrap

A busy weekend with all 4 teams at home! We were able to honour some of players with Milestones for 2018.

VYCW

Eagles 85 def. Warrandyte Venom 47

A dominating 2nd quarter led to an outstanding win by the VYCW, leading by 17 at half time. The Eagles didn’t stop there, putting the Venom to the sword in the 4th quarter also. Amelia smith had a great game with 27 points, 10 rebound and 4 steals. The team continued to roll as they have their sights set on a finals birth!

VYCM

Eagles 95 def. Kilsyth Cobras 86

The VYCM were able to knock off the Cobras, grinding out a win on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles dominated the inside, led by Liam Killey who had 27 points and 12 rebounds! The team had 4 players get to double figure scoring and had 24 assists as a group. Diamond Valley led by as much as 17 points in the 3rd quarter, but never felt comfortable against the reigning champs!

SEABL Women

Eagles 80 def. Nunawading Spectres 65

The Eagles were able to knock off the 2nd placed Spectres and win their 4th game in a row, pushing them up to 6th place on the ladder. The twin towers, Ezi Magbegor and Lauren Scherf, combined for 38 points and 24 rebounds, dominating the inside throughout the game. 26 assists was a telling stat for the Eagles, as they shared the ball unselfishly with crisp movement!

SEABL Men

Eagles 82 def. by Nunawading Spectres 91

The Eagles made a late fight back in the 4th quarter, but couldn’t get close enough to championship contenders, Nunawading Spectres! Joel Spear had his best game for the season, pouring in 28 points on 72 FG%! The Spectres did their damage in the 2nd quarter, up by 16 at the half.
