SEABL Round 5 Preview

A Saturday night double SEABL double-header at Diamond Valley for ‘Retro Round’! Be sure to come in your best retro outfit and support your SEABL Eagles!!

Our SEABL Women host the Sandringham Sabres, a team they were able to beat comfortably in round 1 by 29. Since then, they have won 4 of their last 5 games (including the last 3 on the trot) and will be coming in ready to rectify their showing from their first game. For the Sabres, a big inclusion since our last meeting is Australian Opal, Rachel Jarry. The two-time Olympian has been scorching since she joined the team, averaging 26 points on 66.7% shooting. The Eagles are coming off a tight win against Melbourne at home, which saw Ezi Magbegor dominate with 22 points! The Eagles will also be welcoming back Chevannah Paalvast who was at the 3x3 Asia Cup, coming away with a gold medal!

The SEABL Men have had a tough start to their SEABL campaign, but found success earlier this season against the Sandringham Sabres, so will be looking to duplicate that come Saturday. The Eagles will look for mike Best to continue his production, currently averaging a double-double (17.8 points and 10.7 rebounds). However, it will take a group effort to knock off the Sabres, who have recently signed Melbourne United Championship player, David Barlow! Barlow will look to make his debut against the Eagles, who last time won by a point!

Wear your best Retro Round outfit, for your chance to win prizes! Doors open at 5pm, come help us #Flyasone
