Ultimate Civic League Wrap – 2018 Round 7

Another night of action from our Ultimate Civic league, with the Game of the Week turning out to be an absolute beauty!




7.05PM Redbacks 65 def. St. Mary’s Sharks 56


Redbacks proved to be too big for the Sharks, as they dominated the key. Nathan Grimes was a force inside, with 23 points, helped by Mark Herring’s 16. Down by 13 in the 3rd quarter, the Sharks were left with 4 players after Mark Scherf fouled. However, the game got as close as a 3 point margin in the 4th quarter until the Redbacks made a final push to secure the win. Daniel Girolami led the Sharks with 15 points, all of which came from behind the 3 point line.

8.00PM The Splashers 60 def. Greenhills 56


The Game of the Week did not disappoint, with the top of the table Splashers coming away with a tight win against Greenhills. With plenty of lead changes, the margin never got out to more than 10 points! Adam Moore had 2 of his 24 late in the game to bring the margin back to 2 points, but the Splashers were able to hold on with a late score to Christian Yammouni ending the game. Moore was supported by Luke Egan, who finished with 23 points, while Bryson Norris led the way for The Splashers finishing with 18.

8.55PM Uni Hill 63 def. Redbacks 54


Uni Hill finished the night with a convincing 31 point win over No Big Deal. Out by over 20 points at half time, Uni Hill cruised to victory in the second half led by Evan Solokidis (28 points, four 3 pointers) and Ernst Kruger (19 points). Justin Littlewood was the only one from No Big Deal to get to double figures, mustering 10 points in the contest.
