Jack Roberts to Fly with the Eagles in 2018!

The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is excited to announce our newest SEABL signing for 2018, Jack Roberts.

Jack’s basketball journey began at the Blackburn Vikings where he played his entire junior career. At the age of 15 he was promoted to the Youth League Men’s team. His dominant performance quickly earned him a position in the Division 1 men’s team that competed in the Big V competition.

In 2017, the sharp shooting guard played in both the Youth League and Division 1 men’s team at Blackburn and put up some amazing stats. In Youth League he averaged 21.92 points per game, 5.38 rebounds per game and 1.69 assists per game. You would think stepping into the Division 1 men’s team would see a rapid decline in performance for the young athlete, instead Roberts averaged 18.32 points per game, 3.95 rebounds per game and 1.11 assists per game.

After an amazing season, Jack was rewarded with an emergency position in the highly coveted U20 Victoria Men’s team.

Looking forward to 2018, Jack is eager to showcase his game at the SEABL level.

“I’m excited to take on the next challenge in my basketball career at Diamond Valley. I look forward to working with the coaches and everyone at the club, and can’t wait for the season to start. I will bring energy on both ends of the floor, do anything to help the team win and I think I can surprise some people with my play in 2018.”

Head Coach of the SEABL men, Grant Wallace, is looking forward to watching Jack ‘make it rain’ from the perimeter this season.

“Jack has an uncanny scoring mentality and plays with an intensity and maturity well beyond his years.  He also possesses a great defensive mind-set that will allow us an ability to get after teams in the backcourt!” Wallace said.
