After a day of great football at the AFLC Frenchville Sports Club Pre-Season Challenge, around 120 members of the Local Football Community gathered at The Frenchville Sports Club to officially Launch Season 2018.
This was the first time that the League had held such an event and it was great to see it so well supported by all the Clubs. AFLC President, Paul Wilson, welcomed everyone and spoke about Australian Rules Football being a 'culture' and the importance of Clubs being able to work together off the field to ensure the growth of our great game in the Region.
The night was attended by Frenchville Sports Club Board Of Directors Chair, Graeme Brady & Frenchville Sports Club Sports Manager, Shaun Ryan. Graeme spoke of the importance of the newly formed partnership between AFL Capricornia and the Frenchville Sports Club and the benefits that it provided for both parties. Graeme then went on to present Glenmore Bulls (Men's Winners), Rockhampton Panthers (Women's Winners), Tim Higgins (Men's Player Of The Day) & Chelsea Carroll (Women's Players of the Day) with their respective awards for there success in the Pre-Season Challenge held earlier in the day.
The night was then finished off with all the Coaches of our Senior Men's and Women's Teams taking to the stage for a short Q&A with MC, Wayne Clifford. This offered a great insight to the thoughts of a variety of different personalities from across our region, some of the challenges the faced during pre-season and the expectations for the upcomming year.
