The Melton Central Football & Netball Club is pleased to announce Renee Hulls as the Netball Operations Manager for Season 2013.
After crossing over from the Riddell Bombers last year, Hulls has been instrumental in the development of Centrals netball in the past year. She represented the club in A Grade while also having a proactive approach in the development and training of all netballers representing the Navy Blue.
Hulls experience is second to none and she will harness this knowledge and expertise to take Central's netball to the next level. She has played in the State League Competition for 20 years, represented Victoria in Under 12, Under 17 and Under 19 teams and has also represented Victoria in indoor netball since 2009.
Hulls was named in the Australian Indoor Netball Team in 2010 and traveled to South Africa for the World Cup. She captained/coached the Victoria Masters Indoor Team from 2009 - 2012 and made that Australian team for those years. Hulls was named Police Athlete of the Year in 2010 and in 2011 she was a player/coach of the Australian Mixed Team.
"I'm excited to be given this opportunity with Melton Centrals." Hulls said of her announcement. "I have a lot of respect for Randy Pereira (A Grade coach for the past 5 years) and the current players. It is why I crossed over from my last club and I really enjoy being apart of Centrals."
"I have had plenty of conversations with people involved at Centrals and I love their professionalism and that they have the Club and the player's best interests at heart."
"I think I can bring experience and drive to Centrals and I'm looking forward to passing on my knowledge to a group of athletes that are willing to learn and take Melton Centrals to the next level." Hulls said.
This is a major coup for the Navy Blue and one the Club is looking forward to next year and beyond.
"Look at those credentials! Who wouldn't be excited about the appointment of Renee?" Melton Centrals President Liam Wilson said. "It has already generated interest, not only at the Club, but within our community."
"Our teams have been very competitive over the last 4 to 5 years, we have won two premierships (A Grade and C Grade) and we are regularly in the finals. We have so many great players in all our sides. Not only are they great players, but they are great club people as well and this appointment will help them develop as players and most importantly, enjoy playing netball for Melton Centrals."
"We'll be looking at expanding our netball arm over the next few years, running junior programs over the summer as well as establishing junior teams to play locally and even in the RDFL. Centrals netball isn't all about winning premierships, it is about enjoying the game, enjoying the Club and most importantly, Centrals Netball offers a great atmosphere for the whole community. Renee will be able to drive this next phase and I'm excited about this." Wilson said.
Although the final decision about coaches for Season 2013 have not be finalised, the impending announcements are not far off.
Preseason Training will begin for all netballers on Wednesday 21 November at 6.00pm at the Clubrooms. All new players are welcome to attend
