2015 Steve Turner Medal - Round 6 Nomination

The Melton Toyota Riddell District Football & Netball League, in conjunction with award sponsor Dome Security, are pleased to announce the nominations for the Steve Turner Medal - RDFNL Dome Rising Gun Award for Round 6 of the 2015 RDFNL season.

Steve Turner is a name synonymous with junior football in the north/western metropolitan areas. Steve is a Life Member of the Riddell District FNL who has held many roles within the league, including a stint as Football Operations Manager and on the RDFNL Board. In 2015, Steve once again sits on the RDFNL Board as well as taking up a team manager's role with the Western Jets in the TAC Cup.

The nomination for Round 6 is...

Mitchell Trimboli (Sunbury Kangaroos). It’s been a reasonable last two weeks for Trimboli, winning the AFL Victoria Country Medal in the RDFNL’s Under 19 interleague game against the Nepean FNL, then earning the Round 6 Steve Turner Medal nomination for Round 6 after booting three goals and being named best-afield in the Roos’ big win over Lancefield.

To be eligible for the Steve Turner Medal, players must be under 23 years of age, and have played less that 15 senior games prior to the start of the 2015 season. Players must have played junior or Under 18.5 football in the RDFNL, and have made themselves available for selection in RDFNL Interleague Programs. The 2014 Steve Turner Medal - RDFNL Dome Rising Gun Award was won by Jordan Baumgartner from Rockbank.
