Sydney Stingers v NSW All Stars TONIGHT!

The NSW All Stars will be playing the Sydney Stingers 2 March 7:30-8:00pm at Sydney University Aquatic Centre.

This is a great initiative aimed at celebrating inclusion in sport and putting the spotlight on our own wonderful water polo community. WPNSW has made a significant investment to be a premier member with Pride In Sport and is very proud of the steps Australian water polo is taking for LGBTI inclusion at all levels.

The NSW All Stars line up is a great example of how these feelings are echoed throughout the sport. The below team list includes 10 National representatives, 5 Olympians and even includes the Australian Men’s Captain Joe Kayes!

Joe explained how the All Stars are feeling before match.

“This is a great initiative and should be a lot of fun! Since the majority of our games are taken very seriously, we’re all really looking forward to having a bit of fun and giving back to the sport by taking on the Stingers,” he said.

Calm and composed words from Joe although no doubt he’ll be feeling the pressure tonight.

The first ever NSW All Star Coach Lindsey Cotterill is also eagerly awaiting the match and will be looking to come away with a win on his debut. Proud of his appointment, Lindsey stated at his press release:

“Today is a great opportunity to show how water polo is an integrated community activity and has been that way for as long as I can remember," he said.

A pretty big statement considering Lindsey’s memory stretches over 45 years of coaching. Having dominated the U14 State Championships for the last 20 years with Sydney Uni, Lindsey will be looking to celebrate this match with hi traditional style. With a glass of red watching Seinfeld at home.

Tickets are still available for the match and can be purchased from the below link:

Make sure to book your spot and come to one of the most exciting water polo events this year!
