Presidents Update

As we enjoy the brief break from domestic and WABL competitions I am pleased to update members some great work being completed and planned within the club.

The online registration system is now fully functioning and for those of you who elected to take the multiple payment option you just need to pay the final instalments. The domestic stadium scoring system is also fully implemented and we all seem to have got used to it very quickly. Thank you for your patience in getting used to its operation and I am sure you will agree it’s a great improvement.

I am pleased to report to members that we have been successful in securing funding for replacing all of the floor boards on courts 4 to 7 and are now working with contractors to secure this work. Because of the extensive nature of what needs to be completed these courts will need to be closed from 4 December 2017 to 31January 2018 whilst this work is completed. We will need to shorten the summer season to cater for this. More details on this will be provided as we move closer to the work being completed.

We have also been successful in securing funding for the electronic wall mounted scoreboards on these courts and the desk electronics on these four courts to also be replaced. This will probably occur at the same time.

Separately we are also negotiating with the council to replace all of the back boards on all courts and whilst this may be completed during January they may need to be progressively installed during 2018.

The Board will ensure that minimal interruption occurs but I am sure you will all appreciate that we will end up with substantially improved facilities after all of this work.

Several other projects are also in the early stages of development and I will report on these in the coming months.
