2016 Lightning Carnival

Despite hot conditions, the 2016 WKFL Lightning Carnival was held on April 9 at Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre. Noonkanbah Blues accepted the invitation to take on the eight WKFL clubs in our annual carnival and competed strongly to come away with two wins from 3 games. Bulls, Cable Beach and Derby need some fine tuning before the regular season starts after failing to win a game all day. Congratulations to Looma who beat Saints in a tight Grand Final holding on to win by seven points.

This year we also had a Women's Lightning Carnival with over 40 participants making up two teams. Cable Beach B were too strong for Cable Beach A winning by 27 points. It's exciting to see more and more women taking up our great game.

Round 1 starts April 23 - see you at the footy.
