ROUND 3 April 14

New Norfolk v Sorell
Cygnet v Huonville Lions
Brighton v Hobart
Claremont v Lindisfarne

BYE Dodges Ferry

This weeks SFL Feature match is the clash of traditional Huon Valley Rival’s Cygnet hosting Huonville Lions.

Both clubs had their first victory of the season last weekend and each will be keen to own bragging rights as to who sits higher on the ladder. Last week Cygnet were well served by youngsters Toby Cowen (4 goals) Elijah Reardon (6 goals) Joseph Direen (5 goals). The Lions Michael Paul had an excellent start to the season along with Callum Rawson & Jarrod Lawler. Home ground advantage might just be the difference between the teams.

The other big clash of the round is undefeated teams Claremont hosting Lindisfarne at Abbotsfield Park.

Nic Clayton starred last week against his old team New Norfolk up forward with six majors. Braden Barwick also had an excellent match whilst captain Martyn Allison has been in great touch in the first two rounds.

Lindisfarne had a twenty-point victory over the Sharks at Campania. The Blues were well served by Blazely, Rand, Jayden Baker and Cassidy. Both teams will hotly contest this match with the winner earning early flag favouritism. Claremont to start favourite with home ground advantage.

Brighton host the Hobart Tigers at Pontville. The Tigers had the bye last week so will be fresh and raring to go and look to consolidate two from two. The Robins currently are lacking match fitness. Their better players last week were Scott, Clark & Whyte.

In the final match of the round the New Norfolk Eagles host the Sorell Eagles at Boyer Oval. New Norfolk will be looking to get on the winners board this week having lost to both Lindisfarne & Claremont in the first two rounds. Hansen, Horne, Heron, Burgess & Daly had good games last week against the Mont.

Sorell has started a much-improved team this season with a win round one and a three-goal loss last week to Cygnet. Daniel Chapman has been in the best the first two games and has had good support from some of the other younger players in the team. Eagles a sure winner here!

In the first of 9 gala days for the season the University club hosts all four games at the Uni Oval this Sunday.

ROUND 3 Sunday April 15

New Norfolk v North Hobart 10.30am
The Port v Lauderdale 12noon
University v South East Suns 1.30pm
Claremont v Lindisfarne 3.00pm

BYE Hobart Tigers

The Demons will start red hot favorite in this match against the Eagles. In the second match the Bombers won first up last week against Uni therefore would be expected to get over The Port. Both teams have a number of young players which will develop as the season progresses. In the third game of the day the Rainbows host last seasons grand finalist the Suns. Expect the Suns to prevail with a more experienced line up. Nicole Matthews 5 goals last week was a major contributor for the Suns.

In the final match of the day last seasons premiers Lindisfarne are up against the much-improved Pies who have won their first two matches of the season. The vastly more experienced Blues team to prevail in this there first match of the season.
