So early in the year, we say goodbye to a wonderful personality and coach: Jules Schwalger-Smith. Jules will be persuing sports and health teaching in the secondary education sector. We will miss his happy demeanor and positive attitude. Good news is that he is keen to help out coaching where his timetable allows!
Following this, NCBA is very excited to welcome back George Robinson who was part of the NC team in 2016 before heading to the US. George has only recently returned from Fresno State University where he was undertaking a Master’s in Sport Psychology with an emphasis in coaching education and athlete development. While at Fresno State, George was a Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Basketball Program during the 2016/17 season. Upon returning home, George has been named on the BBNZ u16 boys coaching staff. Prior to leaving for Fresno State, George was involved with numerous teams and associations in Canterbury and Otago.
George, as NCBA's Community Development Manager, will be concentrating on the wider NC representative pathway, including preparing players and coaches for Mainlands, SIPT, Waitaki/Oamaru tournaments, U13 Regional Championships, Waitaha Canterbury Combined teams, and BBNZ National teams.
