IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO CONSIDER WHEN REGISTERING FOR YOUNGER AGE GROUPS

CHOOSING AN AGE GROUP

For boys, players need to be UNDER the age classification ALL YEAR. e.g. for Boys U15, players need to be 14 and under on 31st December.  Female players can play above their age group as there are comparatively less girls playing than boys.  However, girls who would consider playing in a higher age group should already have good club or rep experience.  If in doubt, register in your age group, and list under the comments section that you would like to be considered for an older grade.  NCBA with then be in touch prior to the trial to discuss your situation.

U13 Boys and U15 Girls grades (newly introduced in 2018)

These grades do not start playing games until June 9/10. This is because these grades are aimed at replacing the JUNIOR ALL-STARS teams that were previously held in August/September.  These grades are intended for those players transitioning from primary grades to junior club level.  So for those U15 girls with higher rep level experience at the U15 age group, you may be identified to play up in the U18 age group, however this will be at the discretion of the coaches. NCBA will remain in discussions with CBA to ensure that the female younger age group teams will be appropriate for the players involved.

These trials will include the U15 girl grade, and pre-season games will be organised for those teams.

For the U13 Boys grade, as we have an U13 focused campaign organised before SIPT (South Island Primary Tournament), we will be working the trials for these into this campaign.  More information about this will be released shortly.

TRAININGS

Teams will train at least once per week from around March to the end of your teams season, and most likely based in North Canterbury.  More information will be provided once the teams are named, and coaches allocated to the teams.

GAMES SCHEDULE

See attached the 2018 game schedule.  The majority of games commence the weekend of the 28/29 April with the majority of games played on a Saturday, with the exception of the Men and Women’s Div 1, WU21, GU17 and GU15, who play on a Sunday.  All games are held at a Christchurch venue.

REGISTRATION LINK

Each player who plans to attend the above trials is required to complete a registration form.
