ONE of the WRFL’s most promising young players Jasmine Goodman was recently a part of Victoria’s successful championship win at the School Sports Australia Under-15 carnival.
Goodman, who plays for Wyndhamvale, was picked to put on the Big V from more than 200 girls who trialled for the school team.
With the competition taking place in Perth, Goodman took on some of the best footballers from across the country.
Goodman said it was an honour to represent Victoria, saying it is something she will cherish forever.
“When we won the Grand Final it hits you that this opportunity doesn't happen very often so it was one of those feelings where everything else just stops,” Goodman said.
“The experience was one of a kind.
“Just being able to play with an amazing group of girls, making new friendships and also playing the game that you love is like no other.
“The coaching and support staff were incredible also so a big shout out to Leanne, Pat, Nicole and Dee.”
Goodman is now preparing for the final game of the season, her Under-18 Girls team has made it into the Grand Final this Sunday.
The Falcons haven’t lost a game this season and will take on Spotswood at Galvin Park at 2.15pm.
“We have worked so hard to reach the Grand Final, but we as a team know that it's not over and we still need to work hard to accomplish one more thing,” Goodman said.
The talented footballer said it would feel amazing to hold the premiership cup up on Sunday afternoon, but admits they can’t take their opposition lightly.
“We have gone undefeated all season and to keep that going for one more game would show everyone that we haven't taken our foot off the pedal and that we deserve this opportunity,” Goodman said.
