WERRIBEE Districts footballer Mathiang Chak and Wyndham footballer Compton Fuatimau have been selected to play in Victoria’s All-Nations squad.
Chak and Fuatimau were both named in the team, which will compete in the Under-15 All Nations Cup.
The event will see the best multicultural players from across the country compete for the national title.
To be eligible for selection in the All-Nations squad, players must be born overseas or come from a non-English speaking background.
Eleven different countries are represented in the 19-person team. Chak (pictured far left) is Sudanese and Fuatimau is from New Zealand.
Finishing runners-up in last year’s carnival, AFL Victoria Multicultural Project officer David Rodan said this year’s squad was ready to fire.
“The All-Nations squad has been working extremely hard in the lead up to the event, participating in a number of training sessions and high performance camps which have helped players develop their skills and bond as a team,” he said.
“With the majority of this year’s squad new to football, all players are looking forward to putting the hard work into action as they prepare to go one better in 2016.”
The championships will be held in Townsville between April 3 and 8.
