Thunderbolts Aiming for Third Win in Six Games

By Matt Hughes (NRL Vic Media)

Tomorrow afternoon at Gosch’s Paddock the Victoria Thunderbolts under 20s will host Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in round 19 of the Jersey Flegg Cup.

The game promises to be a good contest with the Thunderbolts sitting three points above Manly on the ladder with the same number of wins. A win could propel the Thunderbolts as high as eleventh.

After a slow start to the season the Victorians are coming off a strong couple of months of football, where they recorded two wins and two draws from five games. One of those draws was against the fifth-placed Bulldogs, whilst their one loss was a competitive performance against the second-placed Roosters.

If they are to win tomorrow, they will have to do so without injured Chase Aporo. The fullback has played every game since round nine and has been a big part of the side’s recent good form. The team will however be bolstered by the inclusions of Josese Waqalevu, Mali Lepou and Tangata Tero.

Kick off for the game is 4.00 pm and will be followed by the Storm versus Manly game over at AAMI Park at 7.35 pm.
