This Saturday 12th May 2018, NRL Victoria competitions and clubs will get behind the Referee Respect Round for 2018.

We are acknowledging and celebrating our terrific referees during this round, all we are asking of clubs this weekend is as follows:

  • Make a conscious effort for both teams to meet in the middle of the field prior to kick off (after card checks), all players and coach. Shake hands prior to kick off.
  • Each player to shake the referee’s hand following the match.
  • RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT our officials.
  • Please encourage all spectators to direct only POSITIVE comments towards officials, players and other stakeholders.

These are only very small gestures, and something that should already be happening at our games, however if all team officials/players in your club to do it this weekend, then maybe it will continue at other games during the year as well.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
