The Masters Gala Day heads to Pakenham this weekend, bringing together family and football within the community.

The Masters competition allows for males, and now females, over the age of 30 and 35 to be able to experience the lighter side of football, enjoying the game with friends and family. While all the games played aren’t played for points, it’s the atmosphere and friendly environment that attracts past players to return for a day.  

The competition is comprised of teams majorly featuring in the first grade division in Melbourne, with a few others from around the outer suburbs.

This week’s event marks the second of three Gala Days, with the previous one in Werribee being a major success. The Masters Gala Day kicks off at roughly 9:30am in the morning at Cardinia Recreation Reserve, in what is a massive day for NRL Victoria.

In a small curtain-raiser, concluding this the action will shift to AAMI Park where the Semi-Finals of the ISC NRL 9’s competition will take place for the first grade men. Reigning first grade premiers, Werribee, will kick-off against Doveton at 5:50pm with Pakenham and Casey to follow at 6:30pm.

Following this is the big clash in the NRL, where the eighth placed Parramatta Eels will look to solidify a spot in the top eight, visiting league leaders, the Melbourne Storm.

During the Half-Time break in the NRL matchup, NRL Victoria will be displaying some of the pace within the first grade competition, with the NRL Victoria Half-Time Sprint.

It’s a massive day in NRL action for Victoria, and it all starts at 9:30am in Pakenham, be sure to get down and support all teams in action.
