NRL Victoria Inducts New Life Member – Frank Epere

During the 2016 NRL Victoria awards, Frank Epere was presented with Life Membership to NRL Victoria for his long standing service to game of Rugby League in Victoria.

The presentation of this award was fittingly made in front of more than 260 people from the Rugby League community of Victoria including several Life Members. The high regard in which Frank Epere’s achievements were meet with a standing ovation from whole room upon his announcement.

Frank Epere has been recognised with Life Membership for the following commitment and contribution to Rugby League through his time Altona Roosters and involvement in the NRL Victoria community:

  • Committee member – including Vice President and President roles
  • Coaching – including premiership wins in various junior grade, as well as coaching Second Division and First Grade teams at the same time for back to back premierships in both grades
  • Being a leader and mentor to the many players and members involved at the club, displaying passion and drive in contributing to the community, taking joy in seeing young players become adults and being successful beyond the club particularly becoming representative players


NRL Victoria Life Member Induction


The awarding of Life Membership is made on the submission of a nomination from the community to the Board of ARLC VIC Limited (NRL Victoria) who determines that the Life Membership is provided.


The following are minimum guiding criteria for consideration for nomination to be a Life Member of NRL Victoria:


(a)    12 years of playing representative Rugby League for Victoria and to be recognised as a valued leader within that State/Representative Team environment; and/or


(b)    15 years continued contribution to the development of Rugby League in Victoria in an official capacity such as serving as a Board member, serving on committees or advisory groups on behalf of NRL Victoria, serving as a committee member of a club or in an official position of a NRL Victoria approved committee; and/or


(c)    20 years’ distinguished service to Rugby League in Victoria as a player, coach, referee or volunteer clearly providing sustained and constructive support to developing the game; and/or


(d)    A player that represents Victoria in Rugby League with high distinction and pride, such as a player that may have played grassroots Rugby League in Victoria and has progressed to have outstanding career in the NRL.
