FIRST GRADE - Round 7 Preview

This Saturday 28th May sees some great games of Rugby League in the 2016 NRL Victoria First Grade Competition.

Altona Roosters play host to Northern Thunder at Bruce Comben Reserve. The Roosters will be looking for that home ground advantage to get them across the line and claim the 2 points; this could leapfrog them into the top 4 at Thunder's expense. Although it will be no easy feat as the Thunder, who started the competition in great form are looking to get back into the winners circle and should be feeling fresh after the bye last weekend.

Ladder Leaders and 2015 Premiers Casey Warriors will take on a Doveton Steelers outfit that started the season in style with three straight victories, they have since lost their last two, however a win against the competition heavyweights will really show the competition that Doveton are a force in 2016. However Casey are at the top of the ladder for a reason, they have class across the paddock and will be hard to beat. A great match up against two rivals at Betula Reserve.

South Eastern Titans are in desperate need to find some form; they are yet to win in 2016 and will be hoping they can get the job done against Sunbury Tigers in front of their home crowd at Greaves Reserve. The Tigers however, after two loses to start the season have bounced back in style with three straight victories; they'll be looking at the Titans hoping for a fourth straight which could almost get them into the top 4 pending other results.

The final game of the round sees Waverley Panthers take on Werribee Bears at Fregon Reserve. The two teams are sitting at opposite ends of the ladder, Bears 2nd from the top, Panthers 2nd from the bottom. There is no reason why the Panthers can't come together and produce an upset playing in front of their loyal supporters, however I think the Bears will be travelling to the game with other ideas looking to a big win to close the for and against gap that Casey have over them.

North West Wolves have the bye to round out this weekend's NRL Victoria First Grade action. There will be some great clashes, don't forget to get out to the grounds early for all other Senior grades as well as all the Junior Rugby League games too. ALL FIXTURES can be found at the below link:
