Meet our Junior Referee Coaches!!

It is our pleasure to introduce Greg Kidd (Kiddy) and Ian Wooley, who are our current Junior Referee Coaches.  Both Kiddy and Wooley have years of experience in the refereeing ranks officiating at varying levels of competition and are very passionate about the development of our referees at Caboolture Touch Association.

Greg Kidd (Level 6)

How did you get into refereeing?

I started refereeing at the age of 9 and a half due to my dad being a NSW State Referee.  At the age of 17 I was a Level 4 referee in NSW and went to my first National tournament that year.

What is your best achievement as a referee?

Refereeing at the 2016 State of Origin

Why are you passionate about referee development?

As I started so young and became so passionate about refereeing touch, I would love the future of our wonderful game to excel hence now coaching the young referees at Caboolture and Sunny Coast region.

Ian Wooly (Level 3)

How did you get into refereeing?

I commenced refereeing when my daughter decided to start playing Touch Football at Caboolture.  To me, it was a vision to get involved with Junior Touch Football and assist the Club. I was already playing mens touch football and saw refereeing as an opportunity to expand my knowledge of the game and increase my fitness.

What is your best achievement as a referee?

I am fortunate to have refereed at several notable events with each having lasting memories including Junior State Cup, Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games, Qld All Schools and Junior State Championships where I was awarded my Level 3 upgrade.

Why are you passionate about referee development?

As in all sport, juniors are the future leaders of the game and without referees, there is no game.
