VATUWAQA SHOOTING RANGE RESTRICTED USE + PISTOL TRIALS POSTPONEMENT+ DTL (SHOTGUN) TEAM TRIALS
VATUWAQA RANGE RESTRICTED USE
The contractors working on the adjacent FINTEL foreshore will be using the access road through the Shooting Range to deliver landfill to construct a sea wall. Due to the frequency of trucks delivering this fill, it will not be practicable to shoot in between deliveries, as was initially thought. SAF will now need to restrict it's use of the Shooting range while work is in progress, as all work will need to stop, when members are shooting. In light of this, SAF will restrict the use of the Shooting range to a maximum of 3 hours on any one day.
DTL (SHOTGUN) TEAM TRIALS
This weekend 14-15 February will be dedicated to selecting the DTL (Shotgun) team for the Pacific Games. The trials will require both days. There will be NO Pistol or Rifle disciplines shot on these days.
Coordination for any midweek practice should be made through the Assistant Armorer. The final team selection for the Pacific Games will take place this Saturday and Sunday as planned, however we will need to complete the 4 details within 3 hours as all work will be stopped whilst shooting is in progress. We will coordinate these trails subject to all factors.
Saturday's shooting is planned from 0900-1200 and Sunday's from 1300-1600. All members are to familiarize themselves with the criteria under which these trials will be conducted.
Ammunition will be on sale on both days.
PISTOL TRIALS POSTPONEMENT
The Club's new pistols are expected to arrive into New Zealand at the end of this week or early next week. The Trials for the Pistol team will have to be postponed until March. This will allow members to train with the new pistols before the trials. The date for the Pistol trials will be announced later.
Members will be notified once this restriction is lifted. We thank all members for their support and understanding.
