During the NZ Nationals in Hamilton, the Oceania Shooting Federation held its executive meeting. During the meeting, the PNG delegate briefed attendees on the progress and plans for Shooting at the next Pacific Games. It was mooted that PNG were interest in hosting a pistol competition. Standard .22 Pistols and .22 Air Pistols. They needed 6 countries to participate so they could host it. All countries present at the meeting gave an undertaking to send a Pistol Team, including FIJI. The SAF Secretary has advised that the SAF is encouraging members interested in pistol shooting to start looking at preparation for the games and is currently awaiting further information on the discipline to be used at the games.
