The crowed were very vocal in shouting encouragement for both Team Aiu & Tanilou 1. Scores were level at 1-1 after full time as it was an arm wrestle for control for most of the match. It was the first time for all athletes to be involved in such a high stress penalty shoots out with Tanilou slotting the only goal to take the win. ‘’We’re very excited to see such a huge improvement in all the girls skill, such an exciting way to finish the first ever woman’s league final’’ National woman’s coach Jenny Bowtell.

Just Hockey CEO Lance Forkgen was blown away by the talent on show “any of these boys would be able to star in our national competition (AHL), the Ni Van boys are incredibly fast, skill full and have huge amounts of natural ability’’. For the MMF Sharks it was a very disappointing result as they were tipped to take the major prize, Captain John Iawila expressed his disappointment ‘’we really tried hard today but were beating by an amazing piece of skill, we’ll be back next season to try and claim the title’’.
