2012 Oceania Pacific Cup News - A big improvement

For the Boys first game against Australia Country, we came out to show just how much we have improved in a year. And boy did we do so!

Running off the plane, catching a bus straight to the field whist putting our socks and shorts on in the bus - our preparation was somewhat rushed. But this did not rattle us - we were here to play.

In 2011 we had a tough loss to Australia Country - going down 14-0.

This year we came out fit, prepared, and a little more expereinced from the year before. The boys came out strongly and were able to hold off the Australian attack for the first 10 minutes, even presenting opportunities in our own circle.

At half time we came out 6-0, but not defeated. Our defence was sloppy and we knew we had things we could improve. And so improve we did. Our new goal kepper Michel John did a great job - considering he only took up to sport 8 months ago!

The second half we came out blazing, with skillful sticker Nalpinie Iasi putting in a fanatastic goal. We were able to keep the young australians at bay, finishing the second half with a resectable 3-1 scoreline, finishing the game at 9-1.

The boys could see thier improvement, and were eager to address thier weaknesses and come out even stronger in matches to come!
