Vanuatu has the best player in the Pacific!

The National Team won silver in the tournament backing up their silver medal from the South Pacific Games last year. However, this year they were a lot closer to Fiji – even managing to draw with them for the first time ever in the round games (4-4). Fiji proved too strong in the final beating Vanuatu 5-2, but they have certainly sounded a warning to the region that they are catching up to Fiji.

In making it to the final they defeated Tonga twice (6-0 and 7-1), Solomon Islands twice (3-1 and 8-1) and PNG twice (5-3 and 7-0). Ben Sam lead Vanuatu’s scoring with 17 goals (second in the competition) with Hiro pushing forward from defense to contribute 8 through-out the tournament. Impressively and showing the all-round strength of the team every player scored at least one goal!

Full Squad – Hiro Namu (C), Morris Aromalo, Michel John (GK), Jack Katawa, Peter Harry, Zedrack Harry, Henry Homry, Nasse Maltuntung and Ben Sam.
