Stars, Dragons levels series in FBL Division Finals

With their backs against the wall, Surangel Stars and Liquid Skyy Dragons showed their composure as they managed to beat their respective foes in Game Two of the Division Finals to level the series, Sunday in the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

After struggling in Game One, Surangel Stars managed to bounce back as they beat the Ilocandia Bulls, 112-111 in a thrilling finish yet again to level the best of three series with one game apiece.

The Bulls were leading 111-110 in the dying seconds of the game, when The Surangel Stars found Ryan Tayag who was able to drill in a shot to take the lead at 112-111. The Bulls tried their best to get back on possession for a possible win but time expired on them.

Leo Magcalas sizzled for 26 points topping the performance for the Stars while teammate Rex de Asis chipped in 24. Other Stars who finished in double digits were Arnold Undecimo, Ronald Magcalas and ZJ Asido with 16, 11 and 10, respectively.

On the other hand, Marvic Ngchar led the way for the Bulls as he finished the game with a career high 40 points while wingman RB Dorado clipped 30 baskets. Edward Baysa and Joeger Supnet tallied 13 and 11 for the Bulls on the losing end.

In Division B, Liquid Skyy Dragons managed to adjust to their style of play as they managed to get back on the Rams, 109-99.  Rene Bautista finished the game with 31 while Jun Bautista added 25.

With the win both the Surangel Stars and Liquid Skyy Dragons force a winner take all Game Three slated on May 11 at the same venue. After the Division Finals the Magic for the Season Finals will be played on May 18.
