Galaxy Builders, Neco score wins in Rudimch GBL

Teams Galaxy Builders and team Neco breezed through after picking up wins against separate rivals, Friday night in the ongoing 2013 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

Galaxy Builders improved their standing as they scored a come from behind victory against Fish N’ Fins, 82-74. Down by just a single mark at 36-37 at the end of the first half, Galaxy Builders mounted a 24-16 run in the third quarter as they managed to take a 60-53 lead.

From there, Galaxy Builders held on as they went on to sail for the win with Emerson Patenia doing much of the damaged finishing the game with 22 points while Jun Bautista clipped 14 baskets for Fish N’ Fins on the losing end.

The win gave Galaxy Builders its first win as they are now sporting a 1-3 win-loss card while Fish N’s Fins suffered its first loss as they now are at 2-1 tally.

On the other hand, team Neco used its third quarter onslaught to be able to come back and beat a tough WCTC, 89-80.

Neco picked up the pace as they took an early 20-18 lead in the opening quarter, but saw the lead slipped their hands as WCTC battled their way back outscoring them 27-19 ending the first half with WCTC taking the advantage at 45-39.

Neco then re-grouped and displayed their vicious attack as they spurted a 30-20 run to take back the lead at 69-65. From there, Neco stood their ground as they went all the way for the win.

Nico Hinoza topscored for Neco with 21 as teammate Ronald Magcalas chipped in 20 while Michael Bombita and Coco Gonzales steered WCTC finishing the game with 25 and 20 points, respectively.

In other games, PPR Shark Attack won over Surangel Kings, 110-97; and MOJ Lawmen defeated PNCC Molekoi, 79-74.

Games resume tonight with Hanpa Cardinals versus President’s X-Men at 7:30 p.m. as PPR Stingrays will face Neco in the main game at 9 p.m. Wednesday night games will have Island Rhythm against MOE Spiders at 6 p.m. followed by the MOH Band Aid-MOJ Lawmen match at 7:30 p.m. while Sam’s Sharks will take on Galaxy Builders in the night cap at 9 p.m.

Thursday night games will feature Team ABC taking on PNCC Molekoi at 6 p.m. as PPR Shark Attack will face Mason’s Hardware at 7:30 p.m. while Surangel Kings will meet PRR Dragons at 9 p.m.
